"In a realm where beauty meets complexity, where Nordic tales intertwine with tropical rhythms, Elephant Run invites us into a land both reborn and familiar. It’s a call to explore—an invitation to linger, to reflect, and most importantly, to savor the sound that is uniquely their own"

"This isn’t an album you put on in the background. This is sit-in-the-dark, headphones-on, do-not-disturb music. It’s cinematic. It’s cathartic. And it’s not afraid to take its time."
Iain Johnson, Odyssey Magazine

"In an era of disposable music and algorithmic playlist culture, Elephant Run have created something that demands—and rewards—genuine attention. It's a remarkable record that suggests even greater things to come"

BIO

Elephant Run (Amanda Wahlström Plantin - vocals & piano / Fernando Coelho - guitar/ Renato Cortez - bass / Ladislau Kardos - drums) is a band built across continents that turns distance into sound. Their music is shaped by the push and pull of two distant cities (Malmö & São Paulo) - a Nordic Tropical storm of quiet tension building into bursts of energy, a sound that feels both unpredictable and inevitable. It’s not about where they are from, but how they meet in the music and where their sound takes you.
Though still in the early stages of their journey, Elephant Run is already making waves. Their music video for ‘Urubu,’ created by Pedro Bayeux using AI, was nominated in the Innovation category at this year’s MVF Awards—a testament to their creative vision and willingness to push boundaries.

They’ve also garnered attention from respected music critics, with Marcelo Costa (Scream & Yell) calling their sound ‘hard to resist’ and praising their ability to ‘blend layers and textures into a hypnotic musical experience.’ Alexandre Gossn, meanwhile, has described their live performances as ‘a hypnotic musical ritual,’ adding, ‘Elephant Run may not be the band you expect, but it’s exactly the band we all need.’
In 2024, the band embarked on their first Brazilian tour, performing at some of the country’s most iconic indie venues, including a sold-out show at Bar Alto in São Paulo. These performances not only solidified their reputation as a captivating live act but also marked an important step in building their growing fanbase.

Their latest album, Leftover Land, released on all digital platforms in April 2024 and on vinyl in August 2024, is a testament to their artistry and ambition. A limited-edition coloured LP, it features stunning artwork by guitarist Fernando Coelho, who is also an analog collage artist. This multidisciplinary approach reflects the band’s commitment to blending music and visual art into a cohesive, immersive experience.

Now, with Amanda back in Sweden, the band continues to work remotely, preparing for their third album. Recorded during an intense 10-day session at Mato Records, the new album is a celebration of their resilience, creativity and the unique bond that keeps them connected—no matter the distance. Elephant Run is poised to take their next big leap.

"Elephant Run might be split across continents, but the bond they’ve built is unshakable. This record proves it. Distance didn’t break them, it made their music deeper."
